Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (TFMSA, CAS 1493-13-6) is one of the strongest monoprotic organic acids in industrial use — a catalyst and reagent in organic synthesis and the starting acid for triflate salts. It is also a UN 3265 Class 8 corrosive, so the practical questions on a purchase are as much about drums, packing certification and transport documents as about the assay. We supply it with that dangerous-goods work handled: packing inspection and the full transport-document set are part of the shipment, not the buyer's homework.
Grades
| SKU | Grade | Typical | Packaging |
|---|---|---|---|
| NTS-TF-99 | Industrial 99% | ≥99.0% | 25 / 50 / 90 kg stainless steel drums |
| NTS-TF-HP | High purity | ≥99.5%, metallic impurities agreed per order | Smaller packaging by agreement |
NTS-TF-99 — Industrial 99%
The workhorse grade at ≥99.0%, for synthesis and catalysis where acid strength is the point and trace metals are not the limiting item. Supplied in 25, 50 or 90 kg stainless steel drums; a repacked small-lot arrangement can be discussed where consumption is below full-drum.
NTS-TF-HP — High purity
A tighter cut at ≥99.5% for applications where metallic impurities carry weight. There is no single industry-standard impurity table for this acid, so the metals panel — which elements, at what limits, by what method — is agreed per order and written into the specification before the first drum ships.
