Spray-dried granules are the ready-to-press feedstock for dry-pressed SiC parts — grinding wheels, blades, seals, wear components. Granulation gives a fine sintering powder the flow and uniform die fill a press needs: the powder chemistry sets how the part sinters, the granule sets whether it presses the same way twice. Check one measurement first — a granule is a soft binder-held agglomerate that collapses in wet laser diffraction, so granule size must be measured dry (sieving or dry dispersion) and the COA has to name the method. Why the morphology shows up in pressing is covered in granulated vs. spherical SiC powder.
The finished granule is a soft binder-held agglomerate — it collapses back to primary particles in wet laser diffraction, so its size is verified dry.

The diagram's first stage — the primary powder before granulation — looks like this under an SEM: irregular, angular particles. Polozov et al., Materials 2020, 13(7), 1766, Fig. 1(a), CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/); cropped to panel (a).
Grades
| SKU | Grade | Typical | Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| NTS-SICG-STD | Standard sintering | SiC ≥97%, B₄C-based sintering-aid system, free Si ≤0.2%, main granule fraction 60–90 µm, bulk density 0.75–0.88 g/cm³ | General pressureless-sintered parts |
| NTS-SICG-CST | Custom granulation | Toll spray-drying to your powder specification — binder system and granule size agreed | Buyers running their own formulation |
Packed in 25 kg bags or bulk bags.
NTS-SICG-STD — standard sintering granules
A complete pressing feedstock — sub-micron SiC with a B₄C-based aid package and binder, already granulated — that goes from bag to press with no milling or blending on your side. The 60–90 µm main fraction and 0.75–0.88 g/cm³ bulk density govern die fill and green-body consistency, reported per lot with the method stated.
NTS-SICG-CST — toll granulation to your formulation
A service SKU, not a stock grade: bring your own base powder, additive package and binder, and we have it spray-dried to that specification and delivered ready-to-press. Binder system, solids loading and target granule fraction are agreed against your pressing conditions before the first lot.
